ICTP is now accepting nominations for the 2025 ICTP-IMU Ramanujan Prize for young mathematicians from developing countries. Nominations must be submitted online, the deadline is 30 March 2025.
The ICTP-IMU Ramanujan Prize is awarded annually to a researcher from a developing country who is less than 45 years of age on 31 December of the year of the award, and who has conducted outstanding research in a developing country. Researchers working in any branch of the mathematical sciences are eligible.
The Selection Committee consists of eminent mathematicians appointed in consultation between the ICTP and the IMU. The Committee takes into account (1) the impact of the candidate's activity on mathematical developments and progress in the community where they have carried out their work, and (2) the background of the candidate and the conditions under which the work was conducted. The Committee will make a selection in favour of a researcher of high impact who worked under challenging conditions to make remarkable achievements in mathematics.
The Prize is usually awarded to one person, but may be shared equally among recipients who have contributed to the same body of work. Past recipients of the Ramanujan Prize are listed on the prize page.
