Head of the Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics Section and Professor of Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Naples "Federico II" (on leave) .

Director of the Trieste Institute for Quantum Technologies (TQT)

Corresponding member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei

Awards: (2016) International "Luigi Tartufari" prize from the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei (2019 ), "Google Quantum Research Award", (2022) ERC Advanced Grant.

Reseach interests: theoretical condensed matter and quantum information processing focusing on quantum transport in nano-devices, mesoscopic superconductivity, quantum simulators, quantum information & many-body systems, open many-body systems.
