Statistical physics research published

A former ICTP Diploma student and his ICTP supervisor have published a paper in the 28 December 2009 issue of Physical Review E. Titled "Quantum quenches in the Dicke model: Statistics of the work done and of other observables", the paper is partly based on former Diploma student Francis N. C. Paraan's thesis that was done while he was at ICTP in 2008, under the supervision of Alessandro Silva of ICTP's Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics section. Paraan is currently a doctoral student at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. The paper appears in Physical Review E volume 80, article number 061130.
