Scientists who wish to further science in the developing world
take note: ICTP has announced a call for proposals for its 2013
Scientific Calendar.
Each year, the Centre offers about 50 schools, conferences and
workshops in Trieste and abroad. The activities are aimed at
scientists in the developing world and provide a unique,
international forum of scientific contact. Participants gain access
to a network of some of the top scietnists in their fields, and are
exposed to the latest advances and techniques in physics and
mathematics.
A new collaboration has been formed with the European Science Foundation (ESF) that stipulates co-sponsorship for two annual activities in the field of Mathematics, particularly in Geometry and Dynamics. For further information on this collaboration please contact Claudio Arezzo (arezzo@ictp.it) for Geometry or Stefano Luzzatto (luzzatto@ictp.it) for Dynamics.
ICTP Scientific Calendar activities attract renowned scientists
as lecturers, including a large number of Nobel Laureates and
Fields Medallists.
The activities are conducted either at ICTP's modern conference
facilities or at international locations, often in developing or
emerging countries. Many of the activities based in Trieste are
available for viewing online thanks to ICTP's automated recording
system EyA.
For more details, please see the Call for Proposals.
The deadline is 15 February 2012.
ICTP's new branch in Brazil, the South American Institute for Fundamental Research, is also seeking proposals for schools and activities to be held at its facility in Sao Paulo in 2013. For details, see its call for proposals.
