Deadline Extended: ICTP Prize

Nominations for 2011 prize due end September

ICTP is now accepting nominations for the 2011 ICTP Prize. This year's Prize will honour a young scientist working in the fields of physics or mathematics.

The deadline has been extended to 30 September.

To be eligible, candidates should be no more than 40 years old on 31 December 2011. They should be nationals of a developing country, working and living there, although sabbaticals and similar absences from the home country are acceptable.

Full details of the nomination process are available here.

The ICTP Prize was created in 1982 by the Scientific Council to recognise outstanding contributions in physics and mathematics. Since then, the Prize has gained prestige and is now regarded quite highly. It includes a sculpture, a certificate and a cash award of Euro 3000.
