Public Science in Trieste

ICTP is involved in the organization of Trieste Next, a three-day science exhibition to be held from 28 to 30 September 2012 in Trieste. This major public event will be a showcase of innovation and scientific research from Trieste-region scientific and cultural institutions and businesses.

In its first edition, Trieste Next - European Innovation and Science Research Forum will be entitled "S.A.V.E. the FOOD", with S.A.V.E. standing for:

• SUSTAINABILITY in production and in the food chain development
• AUTHENTICITY as the main value in promoting the culture of food
• VARIETY as synonym of quality and excellence
• EXPERIENCE as the major approach towards food

World-famous speakers, scholars and opinion leaders will convene in a series of events to debate on topics such as food security, GMOs, neurosciences, food perception and its impact on health, and eating disorders.

This is the first edition of the event, which will be repeated for a number of years to support both the Milan Expo in 2015 and the candidature of Venice and Northeastern Italy as the Capital of Culture in 2019.
