Data Day at ICTP

ICTP is hosting a high-level, open meeting with top Italian research institutes and universities to analyze the computing needs of the scientific community and discuss state-of-the-art solutions.
 
Titled "Data-day", the event will look at scientific data management approaches, data analyses and tools needed to deal with the growing usage of computer simulations in research, which creates a challenge in managing the large amounts of scientific data driving the simulations.
 
The event takes place on 5 September 2013 from 9:30 to 16:30 in the Denardo Lecture Hall of ICTP's Adriatico Guesthouse; for more details and to register, click here.
 
The event is co-sponsored by ICTP and Cineca, a non-profit consortium of 67 Italian universities and three institutions that offers supercomputing support for research activities, as well as the Italian National Research Council's Institute for Materials Manufacturing (CNR/IOM).
