The Humboldt Foundation has awarded the AGNES (African-German
Network of Excellence in Science) grant for Junior Researchers to
Cameroonian researcher Antoine Celestin Kengni Jotsa, an ICTP
Postgraduate Diploma Programme graduate from the 2007-2008 class.
The award, which was given during a Humboldt Colloquium that ran
from 6 to 8 March 2014 in Nairobi, Kenya, provides young
researchers from Africa with funding opportunities and advice of
experienced mentors from the scientific community and
academia.
Kengni Jotsa, who now works as a research assistant at the
National Advanced School of Engineering of Yaoundé, obtained his
PhD from the University of Insubria, Varese, Italy. At ICTP, he
studied mathematics and completed his thesis on 'Fixed Points and
Topological Degree'.
Kengni Jotsa gave a presentation about "Solutions of 2D Elliptic
Equations by Conservative Finite Element Methods" during the
Engineering and Geology session of the Humboldt colloquium. More
