From Physicists to Entrepreneurs

Scientific innovation will meet entrepreneurial spirit at ICTP in a workshop organized by ICTP and TWAS. The workshop titled "Entrepreneurship for Physicists and Engineers from Developing Countries" will run from 23 to 27 April 2012 at ICTP. It aims at imparting entrepreneurial skills to physicists and engineers from developing countries and teaching them how to commercialize their scientific innovations.

Scientists and engineers will be introduced to the concepts of innovation, generation and protection of intellectual property, technology transfer and commercialization of a product.

This workshop is especially important for scientists from developing countries because the universities and scientific institutions in many developing countries lack such programmes. The hope is that the participants can benefit from the international perspective provided at the workshop.
