Water resources in developing countries

ICTP conference to focus on challenges related to climate change scenarios

Lack of and limited access to water resources are major problems affecting developing countries. Optimal usage of available freshwater is further constrained by the absence of infrastructure. Future climate change will likely create additional difficulties in long-term planning and management.

From 27 April – 8 May, a week-long conference followed by another week of laboratory sessions will take place at ICTP co-sponsored by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences. The conference will bring together the world’s leading experts in hydrology and climate science to provide lectures on the state-of-the-art science of this topic, with the goal of transferring knowledge and exploring how to use climate modelling techniques in developing countries. Further details about this event are included in the ICTP Scientific Calendar.
